The Kingfisher Safari Resort

Ohhhhhh yea!!
The last day we stayed at this amazing resort in Jinger called the kingfisher Safari Resort. It was amazing. I got my own room (YESS!!) with a double bed, running water, flushing toilet and WARM shower. AND there was this pool. The bit in this photo is the small part. To the right is even more of it... SO GOOD.

p.s. look closely i'm at the top of the slide in a pink and aqua tankini ;)

2007 and 2008 Tees

These are the two team t-shirts.
The navy one our tee, Uganda 2008 team. "Trust steadily in God, Hope unswervingly, Love extravagantly." 1 Corinthians 13:13
The brown one was last years', Uganda 2007 team. "Live a life of love just as Christ loved us"

Kitchen Crew ♥

I spent a lot of time in the "Kitchen" (above: a sort of bamboo shelter) helping out with the meals. The amount of work that daily went into cooking for us was immense, think - they get up at 6 (which I did some mornings to help) for breakfast, the plates and that come back, get washed up (mostly the team helped with that, thank goodness) and then they'd be starting lunch. The plates and that come back again to be washed and cleaned while dinner preperation begins. Talk about a lot of work and sacrifice of time. Below is the kitchen "crew", my best mates who I became very close to and shared a lot with, as they did with me.

Juliet♥: Kampala FH Staff Member, Anna♥: spoke no English, but understood quite a lot, Me, Vicky♥: who shared so much with me and taught me a lot as well as translating Anna for me :D and Miriam♥: amazing dancer and brilliant bright, bubbly personality :D

Traditional Dress

They may look remarkably not, but they were actually really comfortable! NO JOKE. The only issues we had was that a) they were realllly long and b) you get SO hot!
But we had a good laugh coz the guys had to wear dresses with a blazer. HAHAHA LOL

I Miss Them...

It's the weirdest thing thinking that I may never see them again (on this earth). I miss them so much and looking through the pictures is both nice and hard... It's great to think of the memories, but hard to feel how much I miss being there, waking up to help and see them. Spending time each day getting to know them better, sharing stories, hope for the future...

This is Kenneth Wekesa (Wesley & Linell). He was amazing, spoke practially perfect English and we became such good mates. Miss him :(
He wanted to know everything about me and what England was like, the weather, the towns, the sights etc. What good universities are like and where they are in England. Where I wanted to go, what I wanted to study. He wants to become a social worker, study at the university in Kampala (capital of Uganda). He's doing his GCSEs in ..hey school year is diff to ours) even though he turns 18 in Sept.
He was such a happy guy, with a lovely, friendly, bubbly personality... even though his mom died when he was 5 months old, his dad left and lived with a new wife in a different community a long way from him and he'd grown up with his grandparents.
These people all have stories to tell. Yet they are the happiest, friendliest most welcoming people you'll ever meet.
I was speechless.
Such amazing friendships were built up during the time that I was in Makhai, and though I may not return to see those that I became good friends with such as Kenneth, Miriam, Vicky, Carol and many others, I know that through God's spirit we will remain together in prayer, memories and always on each other's hearts.

Theresa!

This is the oh so crazy, oh so loveable head teacher. SHES INSANE!! But ♥love her!! Her name was Theresa and she was the lady that called me Natsekho. This photo was taken after she'd rushed up to me shouting "Ahh, my Natsekho! My Natsekho!" SO funny =D

Sunset Crew!

This was probably the most insane thing I've ever done. Well... close to anyways.
Ill.
Get up at FIVE IN THE MORNING to see the sunrise.
Guess what?
It didn't start till about 6:20 and the sun finally came over the hill at 7.
I MUST BE MAD
